President Joe Biden’s administration is reportedly considering a controversial move to provide legal status and a potential pathway to citizenship for hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens currently in the country. This plan, if implemented, would offer work permits and deportation protections to certain illegal immigrants who have American citizen spouses through the immigration parole authority, according to a report by CBS News.
The proposed policy comes as Biden faces plummeting approval ratings, particularly due to his handling of border security. The report highlights that this plan could enable these illegal immigrants to eventually obtain permanent U.S. residency and citizenship by circumventing existing legal hurdles. However, the plan, which effectively rewards those who have violated federal immigration laws, has not yet been finalized.
White House spokesperson Angelo Hernandez Fernandez stated that the administration is exploring “a series of policy options” and is committed to addressing the “broken immigration system.” This announcement follows Biden’s recent executive order on immigration, which critics and policy experts have condemned as insufficient and ineffective.
Numerous videos circulating on social media demonstrate that the executive order has done little to mitigate the crisis at the border, which has worsened under Biden’s open border policies. Estimates suggest that over 10 million illegal aliens have entered the U.S. since Biden took office, exacerbating the strain on national resources and security.
In a troubling development, the Biden administration secretly directed U.S. Border Patrol agents to release illegal aliens from all but six of the more than 100 countries in the Eastern Hemisphere instead of deporting them. The Washington Examiner obtained a memo given to Border Patrol agents, which directly contradicts what senior Biden administration officials had told reporters about handling migrants from these regions. This move further underscores the administration’s failure to enforce immigration laws and secure the nation’s borders effectively.
