Trump Mocks Biden’s Exit: ‘Unfit to Serve’

Former President Donald Trump wasted no time reacting to Joe Biden’s decision to bow out of the 2024 presidential race. After a series of embarrassing gaffes and a disastrous debate on June 27, coupled with calls from both politicians and Hollywood figures like George Clooney, Biden finally threw in the towel.

Trump, never one to miss a chance to jab, took to Truth Social: “Crooked Joe Biden was never fit to run for President, and he’s certainly not fit to serve – never was! He only got to the Oval Office through lies, Fake News, and hiding in his Basement,” he posted. Not holding back, Trump added, “Everyone around him, including his Doctor and the Media, knew he wasn’t capable of being President. And now, look at the mess we’re in – millions pouring across our Border, unchecked and unvetted, with many coming from prisons and mental institutions, plus record numbers of terrorists. We’re going to suffer for his presidency, but we’ll fix it fast. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Biden’s announcement that he wouldn’t seek re-election was spun as a noble decision to focus on his current duties. “It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President,” Biden said, with a straight face. “While I intended to seek reelection, I believe it’s in the best interest of my party and the country for me to step aside and focus on my presidential duties for the remainder of my term.”

The pressure had been building on Biden for months. Democratic insiders and Hollywood elites were getting restless, especially after his dismal performance in the CNN debate where he couldn’t string together a coherent counter to Trump’s points. Variety’s Owen Gleiberman summed it up nicely: “Trump managed to dodge questions like a seasoned lawyer and made himself look more viable than reckless. Whoever the Democratic candidate is, whether it’s Biden or someone else, they’ll have to work hard to undo that.”

With Biden out of the picture, the Democrats are left in a scramble to find someone who can take on Trump in 2024. Whether Kamala Harris or another contender can rise to the occasion is up in the air, but time is running short for the party to present a formidable alternative to Trump’s relentless MAGA campaign.
