Liberals seem to have completely lost touch with the American voter, stumbling through another round of political reality checks as they attempt to process the return of President Donald Trump. Whether it’s arrogance, ignorance, or just sheer incompetence, they continue to misread the mood of the electorate—especially when it comes to immigration. The same issue that propelled Trump to victory in 2016 played a major role in securing his return to the White House, yet the left still refuses to acknowledge the political disaster they brought upon themselves. Years ago, they abandoned their once-potent messaging on healthcare in favor of pushing open borders, amnesty, and an illegal alien free-for-all—policies that aren’t even popular among the very Latino voters they claim to champion. Trump’s ability to dramatically increase his support in Latino-majority border counties during the 2020 election should have been a wake-up call. Instead, Democrats doubled down, and now, they are left scrambling as the American people reaffirm their support for strong border enforcement.
The Biden administration, ever clueless, tried to convince voters that the border crisis wasn’t real, that it was merely a right-wing talking point. The American people didn’t buy it, and they showed it at the ballot box by re-electing Trump. Now, under his leadership, ICE raids are in full force, illegal immigrants are being deported en masse, and local law enforcement is preparing to take a more active role in immigration enforcement. Trump has invoked a longstanding statute to allow states to deputize officers as immigration agents, and most states are eager to sign on. Meanwhile, the Laken Riley Act has passed with broad bipartisan support, requiring the detention of illegal aliens who commit additional crimes—though, of course, crossing the border illegally is already a federal offense in itself. But rather than facing reality, liberal pundits are throwing fits on national television, hoping that Americans will suddenly panic when they realize their morning smoothie might cost an extra dollar.
The left’s latest argument against enforcing immigration law is as desperate as it is insulting. Liberal talking heads like CNN guest Jenna Arnold have taken to arguing that illegal immigrants are necessary because Americans supposedly won’t do basic labor. Arnold specifically pointed to strawberry-picking, as if that’s the only contribution illegal aliens make to the economy. Never mind that this kind of rhetoric reduces an entire group of people to mere laborers, an argument eerily reminiscent of 19th-century Democrats justifying their dependence on slave labor. In their view, enforcing the law is somehow a cruel inconvenience, because without illegal workers, who will supply the blueberries for their overpriced smoothies? The sheer condescension of it all is staggering.
Of course, the idea that Americans won’t do these jobs is a complete myth. There are countless legal workers in this country ready and willing to fill those positions—what’s been missing is the enforcement to ensure that employers hire them. Instead of addressing the real problem—businesses knowingly hiring illegal labor to undercut wages—Democrats like Arnold act as if deporting illegal immigrants will bring the economy to its knees. It’s the weakest argument imaginable, and fortunately, Trump isn’t the type to back down under media pressure. Unlike his predecessors, he understands that the American people expect action, not excuses.
Trump was re-elected with a clear mandate to secure the border, and his administration is wasting no time. The American people overwhelmingly support mass deportations, and his administration is making it clear that those here illegally will be found and removed. With Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth ensuring that military flights for deportations will continue, the message couldn’t be clearer: the era of open borders is over. The law is finally being enforced again, and while the left continues to whine about labor shortages and smoothie ingredients, the rest of the country is breathing a sigh of relief as order is restored.

Democrat: “I can’t wait until American women can’t put blueberries in their smoothies."
Truly incredible stuff.
