So, it turns out the Biden administration has really outdone itself this time. Acting ICE Director Patrick Lechleitner just dropped a bombshell on Congress: 425,431 migrants with criminal convictions — including charming charges like rape, murder, and assault — are now freely roaming American communities. Oh, but it doesn’t stop there. Another 222,141 migrants currently face criminal charges in U.S. courts. And guess what? Not one of these individuals is in ICE custody. What could possibly go wrong, right?
If you’re doing the math, that means a grand total of 647,572 convicted and accused criminal aliens are currently at large in the United States. Sure, some might argue that the 222,141 individuals facing charges are innocent until proven guilty. That’s technically true, but let’s not kid ourselves. Given that about 98% of criminal cases end in a guilty plea or conviction, we’re looking at roughly 217,000 new criminals joining the ranks. Great job, Team Biden.
But hey, why worry about protecting American citizens when you can be “helping” foreign nationals instead? The Biden administration seems to think it’s their primary duty to roll out the red carpet for everyone else. To put these staggering numbers into perspective, we now have enough criminal aliens running around to populate an entire mid-sized U.S. city, like Boston or Washington, D.C. I guess Biden’s immigration policy is going for quantity over quality.
So how exactly does the federal government manage to lose track of nearly 700,000 criminals? Simple: by ignoring the immigration laws already on the books. The Immigration and Nationality Act provides clear rules on who can come into the country and for how long, but apparently, that doesn’t align with the Biden worldview. Instead of pushing Congress to change the laws, they’ve just decided to ignore them altogether. After all, who needs secure borders when you’ve got an agenda to push?
For over three years, the Biden administration has been busy turning the Department of Homeland Security into a glorified Uber service for border crossers. They’ve been letting criminals, potential terrorists, and whoever else walk right in, all while reassuring the public that everything’s just fine. Sure, trust the administration when they say that all those military-aged men crossing the border are just asylum seekers looking for the American dream. And don’t worry, they’re definitely being vetted… or are they?
Lechleitner’s letter makes it crystal clear that whatever “vetting” is supposed to be happening, isn’t. Anyone with an ounce of common sense could tell you it’s impossible to vet hundreds of thousands of people properly at this pace. But hey, who needs common sense when you’ve got a political narrative to uphold? The media will probably do its best to sweep this under the rug, blaming everything from xenophobia to capitalism. But the truth is, this chaos stems directly from a deliberate decision to ignore laws that were put in place for a reason.
The Immigration and Nationality Act gives the president all the tools he needs to bring some order to this mess. If Biden actually wanted to, he could restore sanity to the border and ensure asylum is reserved for those genuinely fleeing persecution. But instead, he’s turned asylum into a free pass for anyone who manages to get across the border. And now, the American people are left to foot the bill—sometimes with their lives.
So, how many more tragedies are we going to see before the Biden administration finally decides to put Americans first? How many more innocent people need to suffer before Congress and the White House get serious about enforcing the laws they’ve been elected to uphold? At this rate, it’s anyone’s guess. But one thing’s for sure: it’s past time for action.
